The Trailer That Brought Light
In the 1960s, Esther and Willie brought the gospel to villages in South India using a simple but extraordinary tool—a house trailer. Locals nicknamed it “the UFO” because nothing like it had ever been seen before.
Inside that little trailer, lessons came alive. By day, it was a literacy classroom where children and adults learned to read. By night, it transformed into a chapel where hymns were sung, scriptures read, and prayers lifted.
What looked like a curiosity on wheels became a beacon of hope. Entire communities were introduced to Jesus through the humble faith and creativity of two women who believed that no obstacle should keep the gospel from being heard.

The Legacy of Esther Osborn
The story of PNF is rooted in the faith of missionaries like Esther Osborn, who gave her life to serve in India for over 65 years. Along with Willie Wieboldt, she pioneered literacy schools, children’s programs, and church plants that continue to impact India today.
From Then to Now
That same spirit of faith and perseverance continues today through PNF and Pastor John’s leadership. What began with literacy classes and small church gatherings has grown into a vibrant movement of church planting, children’s care, and mercy ministries.
Pastor John
Passing the Torch
In 2015, John was still serving as a translator at the Literacy Mission Center in Palacode. By 2017, he had become the Administrator, and just a few years later, the President. What began with John helping visitors understand sermons grew into him shepherding pastors and churches across Tamil Nadu. His rise from translator to leader shows how God often lifts up the humble to guide His work.
From Legacy to Leadership
“The average Indian is by nature a very religious person. The Jacob’s well of Samaria is seen in almost all villages of India.”
— Esther Osborn
What We Do
-
At the heart of PNF’s mission is equipping pastors and planting churches in unreached villages. Through training and support, we help local leaders establish Christ-centered communities that multiply disciples.
-
We believe reaching the next generation is critical for lasting transformation. PNF supports children through sponsorship programs, after school centers, and Vacation Bible Schools that touch thousands of lives each year.
-
The gospel is both spoken and shown. PNF’s mercy ministries provide practical care that opens doors for the love of Christ to be displayed among the most vulnerable.
-
Beyond spiritual needs, communities require infrastructure and resources to thrive. PNF invests in projects that serve both body and soul, creating opportunities for the gospel to take root.
